Hands on creativity provides a vital part of creative thinking and learning about materials and contr. Supporting others to create is rewarding to witness the cogs turning and beautiful things unfold.
My most rewarding community project to date was with Bali life foundation. Working with marginalized women in Bali. The basis of this project is teaching and supporting women caught in the poverty trap to make for sale a variety of items. To this day, 10 years on and 3 of the women continue to run their own business Using skills learned with me.
Costuming with Voice Works Plus, a mixed ability theatre group, is enriching and extending design development with ability and sensory needs in mind.
As Artist in Residence with the children at Mosman Park Primary School whole school program over a number of weeks, children gained new skills in thinking, manual dexterity and working together.
My parting gift at greenschool was leading a 5 day workshop with 25 students. The brief was to design and create 40 costumes from community rubbish for an original musical production about Plastic. The production was so successful it went to Paris for youth climate summit.
